Keep John A. Donofrio Fiscal Officer

Summit County Fiscal Officer John A. Donofrio announced today that he will seek re-election for a second term. John became Summit County Fiscal Officer on June 17, 2002 after serving as county treasurer for 23 years.

“I am seeking re-election so I can continue my efforts providing efficient and effective services to the citizens of Summit County” Donofrio said.

John Donofrio has been a forerunner in making changes which have set the standard in Treasury Management throughout the State of Ohio.

John has been recognized by state and national organizations for his efforts and accomplishments throughout his years in office. In 2007, Donofrio’s Weights & Measures Department received the prestigious Frank P. Gallo Award for excellence from the Ohio Weights and Measures Association and John was awarded a NACo Achievement Award for his Fuel Quality Testing Program, another first in the state of Ohio.

The Auditor of State’s office recently presented John with the “Making Your Tax Dollars Count” award for fiscal year 2005 and 2006 audits for Summit County. In addition, Mr. Donofrio has just been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the National Government Finance Officers Association for the Fiscal Year ended 2006.
